Update: April 2018

@@@

I finally manged to collect all of the Word Play charts. These charts by Brenda Gervais have been out for awhile now.  I'm a little late to the game.  After seeing some finished pieces I caved and started collecting the set. This is my progress on the May Word Play.  I wouldn't have it done by the First, a mere 2 days away, but hopefully by the end of the Month.

My Winter Wonderland trees has some more leaves. Hoping for some fully grown trees by next update.

I put the final stitches on "The Needlework Shop". My second Hometown Holiday Series finish. The stitch count is 78w x 45h so I'm counting this as my Smalls Finish for April. I have about 5 stitches in on "The Diner",  the next on my list.

My SALs are suffering this month as last month. Hope I'll have some more energy and get back on track soon. I did get some ornaments Finally Finished but I forgot to take pictures. I want to get this post up so I'll share pictures next time.

Week 12: Happy Easter

April Stamp
Lizzie Kate, Flip-It

April Stamp Flip-It is stitched! It's pinned to foam core board in a frame from Hobby Lobby. Ive left the back open; I think I may want to use this frame to swap out some other monthly finishes.

Another visit of Hare's Easter. My Spring seasonal finish.

Week 10: Waiting for Spring

I'm so ready for Spring. The weather has been a tease the last few weeks, we had temps in the 80s for a few days only to drop back down to the 30'splum s each morning. I'm ready for the dreary gloom of Winter to go away.

To lift my spirits, I worked on a freebie from Plum Street Designs. And wonder of wonders I have finish. I left off the words at the bottom to make it a general seasonal piece. Hare's Easter is stitched on a piece fabric from the stash pile. I changed out most of the called for colors, starting with the color of the hares. The called for color was too close to the fabric and didn't stand out enough. Then I brightened up the colors for the clothes as well

The other stitching that I managed last week was on The Needlework Shop. I've added the upper portion of the shop and the awning.

Week 8: The Beginnings of a Building

My Needlework Shop has some snow on the roof and the beginnings of a building. Reading and knitting took up most to my spare time. I'v working on a scarf that I started in January. While I'm anxious to welcome Spring, I really would like to finish this scarf and so I've been spending a lot of time with it. Time to get it off the needles and concentrate on something lighter

Meanwhile here is my progress so far on the Needlework Shop.

Week 5: Quick Update

I don't have much to show this week. I pulled out Fragments In Time 2017 and worked a little on it but didn't make much progress. I had hoped to finish the block I was working on. Maybe next week.

I had a new start, Valentine Wishes by Blue Ribbon Designs. A set of six ornaments for my Seasonal Stitching list.  Stitching is on 32ct Touch of Pink by Wichelt. So far I have 2 sides of the border for one pillow/ornament done.

The snow on The Sweet Shop in done. I have temporarily pinned the project to some Styrofoam, in anticipation of a cube finish. I think I will like this series as a mini town. I will wait till I have at least one more complete before I start the finishing. In the meantime I'll be looking for some fabric for the back and some ribbon for the sides and bows.

Week 4: A Few Finishes

I've 2 almost finished and 2 fully finished to share.  There are a few stitches needed on the swan. I plan to substitute beads on this piece, as I've done on a couple others in this series. I need to change my stitching location to the table so that  I'm not spending a lot of time retrieving beads from the carpet.

The shrubs are in and the tree in the window has some leaves. It's hard to tell (picture is a bit washed out) but there is some snow on the left side of the shop as well. The flakes are scattered and I hate skipping all over, so it took a few days to get started on the snow.  Hope to finish up this week. Ready to move on the next one in the series.

November 2017: WIPocalypse

Melissa of Measi's Musing is hosting this SAL.

My list for WIPocalpse 2017 needs some major revising. but it's almost the end of the year. Soo... I'll just wait until 2018 and make a new list. Yes, though I haven't stuck to my original plan, I intent to continue with this SAL in 2018.

Here is what I accomplished in November.;

Fragments 2017  came out again, as I started on Number 5. Four of the six large flowers are almost done. Should not take to long to finish the others as well as the basket to complete this Fragment square.

A new start for me is the" Sweet Shop" by Little House Needleworks. Another area where self control when out the window. I follow Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks on Facebook. I also follow several stitchers that are LHN and CCN addicts on Instagram. Is it any wonder that I was pressured to start the Hometown Holiday Series? They twisted my arm, really they did!!

Personalized Name Tree by M-Designs
This month I stitched two name trees. Yeah!! These charts have been in the pile for a few years now. I really would like to get at least two more stitched in the next couple of weeks.
stitched with  NPI 464 Delft Blue
This tree needs to be decorated. I'm waiting on some beads that I pray will be the right shade of blue. Still trying to decide what ornament to use as the tree topper

stitched with NPI 103 Pansy Purple
Delica 11/0 , 1347: Mill Hill Star
This tree is all blinged out and ready to have the finishing completed.
I'm so excited to get it to this point.

Pumpkins and Rings

I managed to get my Little House Needleworks, October stitched before the month ended. I haven't finished it yet. I would like to set up a display so that I can change the months out. Of course that would mean that I should get busy stitching the rest of the LHN Monthly Series. I loved Pricilla's white picket fence, so I stitched my fence with WDW Grits, also changed the bird to a crow/raven and stitched it with Carriage Black (I think.)

Five Golden Rings is finally stitched. I subbed Kreinik 002 #4 very fine braid and MH 00161 seed beads for a little bling.

I had a pretty good start on Autumn Harvest. I'm using a mix of fibers, since I don't have all on any one of the companies. The completed pumpkin is stitched with Sampler Threads, Burnt Orange, the other is being stitched with Crescent Colours, Pumpkin Harvest.

Second Week Stitching

I finished the first motif in Fragments In Time 2017. Last weekend, I also worked some on the border.  I'm happy to finish this one, it turned into a challenge trying to correct for my prior miscounting.

This week I had another small finish. Spooky Sheep by Shepherd's Bush. I just need to add his hat, a button to his head.

For some seasonal stitching, I've stared the next 12 Days Ornament and a Fall project as well. I only have the 'N' in Rings done on the ornament so no picture this time. This is my progress so far October by Little House Needleworks.

Joy and Peace

My stitching in November was almost non-existent. Now that my job has moved into the new building my life is getting back to normal. Yeah!

This week I picked up Joy and Peace, a Little House Needleworks ornament from 2011.

I also put a few stitches in the second layer square for my biscornu. This square is slightly bigger than the first and is being worked in Rice stitch.

Woo Hoo! We got a little tiny bit of rain this week. Not enough to address a drought but enough to drop the temperatures at least 20 degrees. It has been wonderful not to hit triple digit temps the last few days.

Last month while hiding indoors I managed to stitch Berrie Pyneboxe and Little House Needleworks ornament #5 for 2012.
