Valentine's Day

 

This is a JBW Designs heart that I stitched last year. It was in the to be finished pile. I hurriedly pulled it out yesterday and finished it so that I could use in for a blog hop. Thank goodness for deadlines. I now have another finish!

January Review

Focusing on Lady Justice in January gave me a  much needed boost. I made a lot of progress on her dress. I want to work on her at least one day per month to see how far I can get.

My HOD Love You freebie is stitched now to finish it and the 2 Hearts from JBW's French Country leaflets.

Cathy's 2022 Valentine/Anniversary Freebie was released this morning. It's lovely and is already in my list of must stitch. If I don't get to it this year it will definitely be stitched next year.

My ornament for January was on the movie theme Rudolph the New Red Nosed Reindeer. I stitched 4 of JBW's Reindeer from French Country Ornaments II ,The Reindeer Collection.

 This is my progress on PNPS Magazine's Spring Home. Just a few more hours and it will be complete. I'm thinking a pillow or flat fold for this one.

I also worked of Olive Harrowgate and a couple of starts for Magazine Monthly Challenge. My progress was not a much so I will share this later.

I have another Valentine finish. I stitched a second heart by JBW. This one is the Scalloped Heart from French Country Hearts I.

The first 24 hours of Cross Stitch Marathon for 2022 was this past weekend. I managed 22 hours and yes, I'm still Team Sleep, that's not going to change. My focus piece was Lady Justice. She is also number 2 on my WIPGO board, so she helped with both challenges. I started the sampler Olive Harrowgate 1737, from Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher Magazine and Love You a HOD freebie. My start on Olive Harrowgate is very small but it's a start. She is not a very big sampler (160x72 stitches) and is stitched with only 4 colors so it shouldn't take to long to complete; if I get back to her soon. By the time I started the HOD chart the frogs came for a visit. I frogged at least 3-4 times before I gave up. It's a lovely piece and a quick stitch so I will finish stitching it this week and hopefully FFO it this weekend.

Pumpkins and Rings

I managed to get my Little House Needleworks, October stitched before the month ended. I haven't finished it yet. I would like to set up a display so that I can change the months out. Of course that would mean that I should get busy stitching the rest of the LHN Monthly Series. I loved Pricilla's white picket fence, so I stitched my fence with WDW Grits, also changed the bird to a crow/raven and stitched it with Carriage Black (I think.)

Five Golden Rings is finally stitched. I subbed Kreinik 002 #4 very fine braid and MH 00161 seed beads for a little bling.

I had a pretty good start on Autumn Harvest. I'm using a mix of fibers, since I don't have all on any one of the companies. The completed pumpkin is stitched with Sampler Threads, Burnt Orange, the other is being stitched with Crescent Colours, Pumpkin Harvest.

First Week's Progress

Have you stitched on silk gauze lately? Who knew it could be so much fun! I have several kits in my stash, and may have started 1 or 2 many years ago before my floor lamp/magnifier. This is the first time I have really had fun stitching on silk gauze. There is hope that some of those kits in my stash will make to the top of the pile and on the walls. Here is my progress on The Pineapple Sampler from Threads Through Time.












My other New Year start was AHRH. I have also made progress on Block 1.




 Last but not least I have stitched a portion of the JBW design The Shoe Shopper on their pre-finished shoe bag. Trying to get my hands into the area to be stitched has not been fun, so I have opted just to stitch the shoe for my shoe shopping DSis. This will be part of her B-day present. I can't believe I have something done ahead of time. Okay, okay I admit I started this in Dec, 2009 (it was originally to be a B-day present in 2010) got frustrated and put it away until now.
