Week 1 of 2023!

Hope your 2023 is off to a great stitchy start.

I managed a few finishes in 2022 and hope to mark off a few more finishes this year.

1. Autumn at Hark Run Hollow

Block 3 is outlined and ready for some stitching.
2. Lady Justice

I'm almost finished with the lower right portion of her sash, then I'll continue with her dress.
3. Nevermore

Time to finish up the raven.
4. Cinnamon Stars
5. Outstretched Arms

6. The Game

7. As Life Wears Away

Are the WIPs that are now on the top of my stitching list. I also will be taking part in a few Challenges and SALs, again this year

WIPocalypse 2023

WIPGO 2023

Christmas Ornie SAL  and

Halloween Cross Stitch Challenge are some that I'm taking part in so far.

Beading has also now a very prominent part of my crafting. I managed to complete a few projects last year as well. The inventory of beads and the pattern collection is expanding. Thus far I've been able to keep them organized so hopefully that will continue. Just need more hours in the day to get to everything.

Here's to a crafty 2023.

January Review

Focusing on Lady Justice in January gave me a  much needed boost. I made a lot of progress on her dress. I want to work on her at least one day per month to see how far I can get.

My HOD Love You freebie is stitched now to finish it and the 2 Hearts from JBW's French Country leaflets.

Cathy's 2022 Valentine/Anniversary Freebie was released this morning. It's lovely and is already in my list of must stitch. If I don't get to it this year it will definitely be stitched next year.
My ornament for January was on the movie theme Rudolph the New Red Nosed Reindeer. I stitched 4 of JBW's Reindeer from French Country Ornaments II ,The Reindeer Collection.
Do you remember that Lady Justice and PNPS' Spring Home were my WIPGO numbers for January?
This is my progress on PNPS Magazine's Spring Home. Just a few more hours and it will be complete. I'm thinking a pillow or flat fold for this one.
I also worked of Olive Harrowgate and a couple of starts for Magazine Monthly Challenge. My progress was not a much so I will share this later.

Gwen

The first 24 hours of Cross Stitch Marathon for 2022 was this past weekend. I managed 22 hours and yes, I'm still Team Sleep, that's not going to change. My focus piece was Lady Justice. She is also number 2 on my WIPGO board, so she helped with both challenges. I started the sampler Olive Harrowgate 1737, from Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher Magazine and Love You a HOD freebie. My start on Olive Harrowgate is very small but it's a start. She is not a very big sampler (160x72 stitches) and is stitched with only 4 colors so it shouldn't take to long to complete; if I get back to her soon. By the time I started the HOD chart the frogs came for a visit. I frogged at least 3-4 times before I gave up. It's a lovely piece and a quick stitch so I will finish stitching it this week and hopefully FFO it this weekend.

I also worked on 2 Mill Hill kits for my 21  Halloween Ornaments in 2021. I finished the stitching on Candy Corn from Autumn Harvest Collection and now I've pulled out Moonlit Owl. Hope to have both stitched and beaded soon. My other ornament stitching a start on Day 4 of Erica Michaels' 12 Berries of Christmas.

This month, I've decided to focus on my heritage stitching. The first week I worked on Lady Justice, last week I worked on Portrait in Red. I'm almost done with the head dress and should start working on her face soon.

This weekend proved to be very productive.  On Thursday I saw the notification  that the 13 and 14th would be the second WIPGO weekend of 2021. I set a goal of working 100 stiches on Woman Silhouette and to stitch the top border on page one of Nevermore. I was able to meet both goals and I'm especially happy with my progress on Nevermore.

If that wasn't enough I was able to purchase one of GaRon Toten Bags special February bags. It arrived of Friday and now houses Lady Justice!

My First 24HOC

I'm not one to count stitches or track the time spent on project. However I am always looking for ways to increase completed projects. This past weekend, I took part in the FB group 24 Hours of Stitching Challenge. I knew I couldn't make the 24 hours of the challenge but wanted to see if I could make 12 hours. On Friday after work I hastily pulled my projects out, and started to gather the needed supplies.

The focus piece I decided on was Lady Justice, Mirabilia. It was a piece I wanted to make some progress on and it was part of my WIPGo called number of January. I managed to complete most to the bodice and started on the ribbon sash at her waist.

I also kept handy a smaller project. My Starry Night was close to finish. So that became project number two.

I'm really please with what I was able to accomplish, and will try to take part in a future marathon.
