September-October 2022

Winter Wonderland was my start for the September Designer Focus. Designer is Glendon Place. I only managed a portion of the border and a start on the antlers. I have a bit more of the border on the right than this picture. Will continue working on this to see how far I can get.

I also worked on Monica, Mabel Tuke, Cinnamon Stars, and Lady Justice. I had a start and finish on Hands on Design Hello September.

October's start and finish was Cricket Collection's Why Is It? Cricket Collection was GaRon Designer Focus for October.

This year I was able to attend Friendstitch. This Zoom retreat held by Heart in Hand and Bent Creek was a blast. I was in the morning session. The projects, videos and swag made it a great experience. I look forward to attending next year.

Two ornaments from the Friendstitch Retreat.
I stitched and finished some Halloween pieces most are in the previous post. I also finished the last part of Casting A Spell, Blackbird Designs. It's now ready to be fully finished for next year. My box is painted and ready to go.

Mid-November Progress

Do you see what I see?

Name Tree
M Designs

A near finish on my ornament for DN!

I just need to finish the first letter of her name and the tree stand. Then on to the beading.

12 Days
Hands On Designs

I finally finished stitching day 11 of Hands On Design's 12 Days. I used Kreinik #4 Braid  to give the pipes a brass look. One more to go and this 12 Days of Christmas series will be done.

Nessie Michell

Michelle Baddeley

Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery and many other IG stitchers have been stitching #blacksamplernovember. I am stitching Nessie Mitchell by Michelle of mommalovesyougb (IG) for this hash tag. My goal was to complete the first row this month. Well I managed to get the first and second rows done.

Earlier this month I finished The Cat from Casting a Spell by Blackbird Designs. I am so close to having all the projects done from this book that I decided it was time to paint my box.

The box has 1 coat of black and 2 coats of Burnt Umber. I wanted my box more dark chocolate than black. Next up I plan to do some distressing and then adding some wax to seal the box.

Today I received fabric and spool for the IStitch Advent Stitch. I got some of the plain white and a piece with a green edge. I just need to pull threads.

My Christmas in July etc.

Yesterday was the 31st of July and the end of Christmas in July Stitching.

In addition to the Shepherd's Bush Star and Wish, I stitched 4 of the 6 Sue Hillis, Christmas in Red ornaments. I've decided to stitch the last two ornaments on red perforated paper. I was sure I already had some in my stash. I went through my stash and found several other colors but alas not red. I tried to order some but my online shop was out of stock so I'll reorder when they restock.

I shared my finish on Wish and Star on my last post. Here are the Christmas in Red ornaments that I stitched.

Stitched with DMC 321.
I didn't make any progress on my Christmas Berry. Maybe I can work on that while I'm waiting on my perforated paper.
This is the last bit of Christmas stitching I did last month. I finished the needlebook for Just Add Tinsel by Blue Ribbon Designs. Last week at work was very stressful. Even though I stitched Christmas every day, I didn't get very many stitches in last week. I put the final stitches in the needlebook today.

WIPGO:
July's numbers were 12 and 2.
My Number 12 is Casting a Spell and this is my progress.
I stitched these 2 motifs and that I only have 2 more to stitch. Next time this is called I should have a finish.
Number 2 was Monica,  porcelain doll dress.
I really don't have that much more to go.

For August the numbers are 7 and 8. The Game and Hello Summer, Plum Street are up next.

June into July

I had the top portion ready to post  post on the 30th of June. I'm not sure how or why but after making some edits the post wouldn't publish so I've copied and pasted it here.

Today is day 181 of 2021. Half the year is officially over at midnight. I managed to meet my WIPGO goals for the month. I worked on Halloween at Hollyberry Farm, and Starry Night. My SAL stitching was on Just add Tinsel, Casing a Spell, 21 Halloween Cross Stitch projects in 2021, and Christmas Ornie SAL. I had one start, Hello Summer, It's Sew Emma  from Fat Quarter Shop's Stitch Quarterly. I have one popsicle stitched and started on the second of 6.

I'm really excited that Starry Night is stitched. Now I have to make a final decision on how I will finish them.

Mid June Progress

My stitching progress includes a few days working on Merry Christmas on Blackbird Weekend SAL, a finish on the band from Casting a Spell, an ornament from Starry Night and some more flowers for the top border of Halloween at Hollyberry Farm.

My second Blackbird Design Weekend SAL project was this band from Casting a Spell. This doubles as my WIPGO #17 that was called for June.

This is number six of the seven ornaments in Starry Night. This just needs the Kreinik and it will be a finish.

I'm working across the top border. I have two flowers and the leaves to complete it. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will match. WIPGO #1 complete.
