Q&A for ACBH 2016:

Q: Decorations - do you have a favourite decoration you must have on display every year, maybe an heirloom, one the children made or something with a special story behind it?

A: I have a small collection of nativities that I love.  My favorite ornaments are my handmade ornaments. In the future I would like to have enough tatted ornaments to decorate a tree. Maybe 2017 will be the year I am able to tat one per month as I work toward that goal.

Ready for Framing!

This will serve as my post for Gifted Gorgeousness 2016 and WIPcalyse 2016 for September. Christmas at Hollyberry Farm is stitched and ready to be framed. Yeah!!

August 2016: Update

 Following up on last month's stitching I completed the back of the scissor fob from Creepy Crawly.

While I didn't make an official Olympic Post in July, I set a goal to finish the border of Christmas at Hollyberry Farm. Not only is the border done but with some frogging and minor adjustments I got the tree in as well. Yeah!! Just about 20-30 minutes of stitching and this can be moved to the finished basket/drawer.

My other August project was a new start from The Scarlett House.

I am so close to a finish. I have been concentrating on the border for Christmas at Hollyberry Farm and it's almost done. Now to add some more berries to the leaves.

July 2016: Wipocalypse update

Two more motifs to stitch and then the border, and my Christmas at Hollyberry Farm will be finished. I stitched most of the tree awhile back, but it's in the wrong place. I need to see if I can  compensate or if I need to frog, I've already taken out some of the leaves, hoping to see a way to leave in the rest of my stitching. This is my current progress:

Late April Post

March 2016: WIPocalypse and Smalls SAL

Christmas at Hollyberry Farm

The flowers in the big urn are done and I'm officially past the half-way point.  My two skeins of Piney Woods arrived and I was able to finish another tree, and can now do some more work on the the borders.

This is my first Smalls SAL 2016 post. I was able to stitch 3 smalls this month.  First up, Squirrel & Pumpkin from JBW Designs, Halloween Ornaments II, 

Second, Nick by Hollie Designs, JCS 1998 Ornament Issue; stitched on perforated paper.

Third, Assisi Rose a tutorial by Carol Leather found here . For 2016 my guild's education programs are centered on the theme Embroidery Around the World. February's Technique was Assisi, a product of Italy. This is my completed stitching. I'm considering making this into a pincushion.

It's Here Somewhere

It's here somewhere! I know I ordered 2 additional skeins of Piney Woods. When I ran out while working on the border and the tree on the lower right side I couldn't find them anywhere. Hmm... checked my emails to one of my favorite ONS and yes; there was the order in black and white. I know I received the thread along with some other items from that order. After looking for a few more days with no success, I gave up and ordered 2 more skeins. Somewhere in my possession 2 skeins of Piney Woods are having a good laugh.

WIPocalypse 2016:January

My update this month includes 3 of my WIPs. Fist up is Hark, one of my January starts. Hark is being stitched on the 40ct silk gauze that came with the chartpak. Fibers used are the called for Crescent (Classic Colorworks) Colors and Gentle Arts Floss.   I've also made some progress on Christmas at Hollyberry Farm and I'm working on my first ornament for the year, Angels by Country Cottage Needleworks.
