August Update

Where oh where does the time go? It's been a month since my last post! Shame.... I only have 3 projects to report progress on, my Halloween Ornament SAL, Christmas Ornament SAL and Fragments in Time 2017. My progress on the angel as stalled big time.

I finished Birds, 12 Days  by Hands on Designs, still need to back stitch the word. I've been thinking that beads would be a good alternate for the berries. I decided to try it out and used MH 553 for the berries on this ornament. While I am happy with the way they turned out I wish I had the petite beads instead. I plan on getting some of the smaller beads with my next order of cross stitch supplies.

My HalloweenOrnie SAL this month is Spooky Tree, by  Elizabeth Designs. I know that this was in one of the Halloween Ornament Issues but I'm not sure which year. I stitched mine from JCS Halloween Collection. It was published in 2011 and contains a compilation of several designs from prior years magazine issues. The published ornament has 2 bat buttons in the upper left and right side but I don't have the buttons.

I have threads everywhere on my Fragments In Time. I'm off in my placement of the motif in the first block. I'm not going to frog it, so I worked some more on the dividing band to help with placement of the remaining. motifs.

Hi Gwen - I think I told you I was stitching Fragments too all on one piece. I have had a real hard time with that border chart - I had to borrow someone's magnifier at the Sun Region EGA retreat in April - I only did enough of two sides to get placement to start the bird. It's slow going for me on that one and I love the colors but I also tire of it rapidly for some reason. I am off a bit on that grassy knoll - WTH - I am rocking on - no one will notice (I hope). Love your other works. Hope you have a great week ! Mel

Nice work on the Smalls this month especially the little Hallowe'en Tree.
I also like the beads for the holly berries.

What pretty things! I love the Fragments in Time series AND the 12 Days too...both of which I resist with all my might! And the fall tree is sweet! You've had a good month!
