GG: Cheer Angel

I got very close of finishing this project some months ago; then it slid to the bottom of the pile and I couldn't seem to made myself work on it. Last week I picked it up again and now, I'm very close to a finish. She is to be a present for my DN.

February's Gifted Generosity SAL progress

It's February 15th and time for a Gifted Generosity SAL link up. My plans for this link up was to complete the stitching of the pincushion. I managed to finish the front of the pincushion, the back hasn't been started yet.  I will need to make stitch faster if I am to complete the back and do front of the needlebook. Someone has stolen 2 days from this month.

Softly Walk

I started this a few weeks ago and thought I would have finished it by now. No such luck. The skein of GAST Fudge Ripple (recommended by chart) that I have looks to brown for a rose color. I didn't want a dead rose on my sampler, so I went through my thread stash looking for a substitute and came up with 2 very different dye lots of Clover (an good example of how dye lots can differ) and an other choice Antique Rose. The Antique Rose may be to close to the Old Red Paint to offer enough contrast. While I am making up my mind I have jumped to the bottom portion of Softly Walk by La-D-Da. Hopefully by the time I get that all stitched I would have make a choice about the rose.

As promised, here is a picture of the lovely box I received from DixieM.

Happy Christmas Eve

The last few weeks I have been working on Christmas ornaments. Although I have not completed the assembly of all that I stitched this year I was able to finish a few. Here are some that I finished this week.

In this group the top ornament went to a co-worker/friend's new baby. (see below)
The second 2 went to the Cath Lab at one of the local hospitals.
The last is hanging on my tree.

The last 2 ornaments I have to share where stitched by wonderful stitching friends.

This ornament was stitched for me by my good friend Dixie.
(Blue Ribbon designs?? I need to check.)

This ornament I received today from Wendy Jo. She was very sweet and stitched this for me after the original from my exchange partner on HoE went missing. We are still hoping that the original will show up. Miracles do happen!

Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you my stitching friends!

Over the weekend I celebrated my birthday! I want to take this opportunity to thank some of my stitching friends for the gifts they sent me.

On Friday the mailman brought me a kit from Dixie. She had visited Utah and made a stop at the Shepherd's Bush shop. She sent me a chart from the shop along with the threads and fabric for finishing the piece into a pillow.

On Saturday the mailman arrived again bearing more gifts. CarolB sent me a gorgeous Quaker pincushion, a 12-in1 Sewing multi-tool and some Berger's cookies (a specialty baked only in MD).

Steph sent me a wonderful knit felted purse that she knitted and felted herself. She also sent a gorgeous needlebook.

Stitching friends really are the greatest. Thank you ladies for making my birthday special.
