December 2018 Last Lap!

Finally getting back to some stitching!
I bogged down on my HOD 12 Days and just couldn't get past the Maids. Well, I finally finished the stitching on 8 Maids a Milking.

My other finish was my Cheer Angel for my DN.

GG: Cheer Angel

I got very close of finishing this project some months ago; then it slid to the bottom of the pile and I couldn't seem to made myself work on it. Last week I picked it up again and now, I'm very close to a finish. She is to be a present for my DN.

Let the stitching begin

My first post of 2017! I hope everyone's year is off to a good start. I've had a few challenges so far but I'll weather the storm.

2017 GG

My first stitching project was a gift from my dear stitching friend CB. I thought I'd be further along with my stitching but, I had to stop to do pre-stitching for a class on Wednesday. My first GG SAL 2017 project and ornament is a blackboard sled. I am loving this and can't wait till my pre-stitching is done so I can get back to it.

Almost Done

Hosted by Jo at Serendipitous Stitching

I am so close to a finish. I have been concentrating on the border for Christmas at Hollyberry Farm and it's almost done. Now to add some more berries to the leaves.

July: Gifted Gorgeousness 2016

This is not a great picture but I wanted to get my update in, albeit a few days late. I picked up Christmas at Hollyberry Farms again. The trees and reindeer just to the right of the 's' in
Christmas are new. I also finished the numbers and the 2nd-4th borders.

It's Here Somewhere

It's here somewhere! I know I ordered 2 additional skeins of Piney Woods. When I ran out while working on the border and the tree on the lower right side I couldn't find them anywhere. Hmm... checked my emails to one of my favorite ONS and yes; there was the order in black and white. I know I received the thread along with some other items from that order. After looking for a few more days with no success, I gave up and ordered 2 more skeins. Somewhere in my possession 2 skeins of Piney Woods are having a good laugh.

I managed to finish a few more motifs while waiting on my new thread.

December: Final Gifted Gorge0usness Update

December 15 and the last check-in for Gifted Gorgeousness 2015. Jo has been hosting this SAL and plans to continue in 2016. It's a good thing because I have enjoyed this SAL and I still have a lot of projects in my stash. The GG project that has gotten the most needle time in the last few weeks is Christmas at  Hollyberry Farm

Christmas at Hollyberry Farm - Jan 2015

Christmas at Hollyberry Farm - Dec 2015

My other GG project was Strawberry Lace.  I started the year with the back and front of the pincushion stitched. I have made quite a bit of progress but I don't have a current picture to share. Hope to get a picture soon.

Gifted Gorgeousness-JULY 2015

July 15 already!!. I haven't done much on  my GG projects this month. I've spent most of my stitching time working on my doll skirt. I did manage to put in 2 of the upstairs windows on my house. Now I am working on the door.

Gifted Gorgeousness-June 2015

It's been sometime since I pulled this out of the sewing basket. Houses always seem to take forever to stitch and this one is no different. But I am pleased with the progress I have made and will be super thrilled when I get the next side done.

Gifted Gorgeousness - May 2015

The GG project that has had the most progress thus far is Strawberry Lace by Diane Clements. This past week we received the very sad news that Diane passed away. She will be sorely missed by the needlework community. I had the opportunity to take a class with Diane and it was a pleasure to meet her and see her exquisite execution of her stitching especially her Reticello work. RIP

I have the needlebook cover almost done. I need to add two eyelets at the top. Then in the photo there are 4-sided stitches along the outer edge but they are not in the instructions. I will re-read that section again to see if I missed something. Either way I will be adding some 4-sided stitches because I think it ties the cover together with the pages. I just need to decide how far out to stitch them. The last piece that needs to be tackled is the sewing case cover.

Gifted Gorgeousness - April 2015

I missed the check-in yesterday because I hadn't taken an updated picture. Today it is raining and will be for the rest of the week and weekend, if the weather man can be believed. So here is my short update and a not so hot picture.
After my Easter crafting hiatus I am finally back to working on Strawberry Lace. I have had to frog a portion of everything I worked on this past week. I hope the frogs will go away so that I really get back in the stitching groove. I did manage to get the pincushion back stitched.
