I got a little distracted this past month. I was browsing and came across the crocheted hen and a lot of pictures of tatted eggs. It started with the red egg, then I found the pattern used on the blue egg. The blue egg turned out to be a lot bigger than I expected. I was almost through with the first half when I looked at the instructions again and realized that the thread used in the model was size 80 and I had used a size 20 thread. Luckily I was able to find a paper-mache egg that it could fit. Now I'm working on one in the size 80 thread, it should be ready by next Easter.

Aside from the pin cube that was in my last post the only stitching that I can report on is this below.

Spring and Lavender

Spring is finally here and April is almost over. We have had lots of rain here. Hope everyone had a good Easter.

It's hard to believe that Easter has come and gone. At first it seemed to be so late that I could be so much  Spring/Easter stitching done. The only project I was able to complete was a few tatted crosses. I encluded the in a few Easter cards that I sent out. I wore the small green one to church on Palm Sunday.

I had to tweak the pattern and instructions a bit to match the model but, this was a nice, quick pattern.

My other finish so far this month is another set of smalls, French Lavenders by Jackie du Plessis. This was a gift that I received for Christmas, and I am so excited to have it stitched and assembled.

Ta Da

Late on Monday, I put the last bullion stitches in the pin cushion. Yeah!! I was able to meet my goal and the final product looked pretty much like the model. I was very happy to be finished making bullion stitches, they are not on my list of favorites. A stitching friend has offered to show me how she makes her bullion stitches. She does beautiful work and I know that I will be able to get a few tips to improve my stitches. Maybe in time I will get better at making them. In the mean time this is what I was able to accomplish.

April , was International Tatting Day. I didn't have much time to devote to tatting on Tuesday but I did manage to tat the wings and halo for this angel.
