 July turned out to be a very good stitching month. I was able to attend a stitching retreat, the first in a very one time. It was a very good 5 days of classes. I also took part in the 24 hours of Cross Stitch Marathon. 

I stitched Red Berry Wreath and 7 Swans for my Christmas ornaments.

My Second Fully Finished was Hello Summer a Fat Quarter Shop Stitch Quarterly Cross Exclusive from 2021. It's mounted on a board from Shantell 141.

My WIPGO Number 16 Hello Summer, Plum Street Samplers was finished. No progress on Ann Rogers, number 9. 

July's numbers are 11, and 18.

Potporri

 I look at the date of my last post and I am amazed that a whole month has past and I didn't make one single, solitary post. I must admit, I have not made as much progress on my current projects as I had planned.

In the past few weeks I did take a couple of classes that I truly enjoyed. The first was Appalachian Spring a counted canvas project with Michael Boren and Carol Lake. I chose the Arabian Nights one of the nine colorways offered.
I just returned from Celebration of Needlework. While there I was able to visit with some friends I had not seen in a quite awhile. We had a great time together. I took 3 classes there Winter White with Eileen Bennett, Vintage Sampler with Julie Norton and A is for Acorn with Jackie du Plessis. Two whitework pieces and a fun Etui. Looking forward to getting those done.

Since our days are getting longer, I should be able to post some pictures by the weekend.

As January Closes

One of my goals for 2010 is to working on completing some of my projects, so I have been trying to work on my finishing at least once per week. Here are the results of some of my efforts.

It's Fine-ally Finished: Merry Christmas Ornament Make It-Take It kit stitched on linen banding.







This finish was for an exchange on the Legacy BB. My partner Nancy has posted that she has received it so I can post pictures now.

Each participant in the exchange was to stitch a Quaker inspired motif and finish any way you desired. I stitched a motif from Quaker Trifles by R&R in WDW Deep Sea. The larger motif is on the front and the smaller on the back. This needlebook is hinged with ribbon so that the neddlebook can be opened from the left or right without the needlepage falling out. While I remembered to a picture of the outside I forgot to get a picture of the inside. I will try to get a picture the next time I make one of these.

Happy New Year!

This year I really want to work on my stash. I have so many projects that I want to stitch. My goal is to work my way through some of the ones that I have started and others that have not seen the light of day for many moons.

The first project out of the block is this project by Catherine Theron. It was one of the Round Robin projects from Celebration of Needlework, Nashua. This was to be my last project for 2008 but, it took a few hours this morning to finish it up.

My first start for 2009 is Letter "G" by Gigi. I started this project today while watching a Private Practice marathon. I am stitching it on a 32ct antique white fabric with Rainbow Gallery Splendor S906. I should have enough done for a picture with my next post.

I plan to continue working on BBD's Where My Heart Blooms and pull out one of my UFO's. If I work on my UFO's consistently I can reduce the number. I am afraid to attempt a count but I know I have a LOT.

There are some ornaments that I stitched that did not make it on the tree last year I want to get those finished soon and continue stitching an ornament a month. With some exchanges and gifts thrown in I should be very busy.

Celebration Weekend

Last weekend I traveled to Nashua to attend Celebration of Needlework. While there I was able to go to Frye's Measure Mill on Thursday before my first class. The Mill store is a wonderful place to visit, they have a very large collection of Shaker boxes and other gift items. A trip that was well worth it.

At Celebrations of Needlework I attended 5 classes and the Round Robins. My teachers were Lauren Sauer - Forget Me Not in Stitches, Jackie du Plessis - It's Fine-ally Finished and Sherrie Jones - Patrick's Woods. The projects and teachers were great. The shopping mall was well set up and fully stocked. During the weekend I visited with my friends and made some new stitching friends. All in all a very good time. If you have an opportunity to attend, Just Do it!
