This is a JBW Designs heart that I stitched last year. It was in the to be finished pile. I hurriedly pulled it out yesterday and finished it so that I could use in for a blog hop. Thank goodness for deadlines. I now have another finish!

Advent Blog Hop 2017

Today is Day 4 of Jo's Advent Calendar Blog Hop!

Above is a tablescape I put together featuring a few of  my finished ornaments. Some were stitched by me, others I received as gifts.

Jo's question for this year's hop is: How do you plan to spend Boxing Day?  Do you have any traditions associated with this day?

ANS: Boxing Day is not observed here in the US, as it is in the UK and other parts of the world. We are very likely to stay at home and relax and watch sports on the television. This year I will be traveling with my family

Merry Christmas!

Q&A for ACBH 2016:
Q: Decorations - do you have a favourite decoration you must have on display every year, maybe an heirloom, one the children made or something with a special story behind it?

A: I have a small collection of nativities that I love.  My favorite ornaments are my handmade ornaments. In the future I would like to have enough tatted ornaments to decorate a tree. Maybe 2017 will be the year I am able to tat one per month as I work toward that goal.

A small nativity from Panama.
 Some of my finished ornaments.

 Some ornaments to be finished.

 Thanks for stopping by,

Trick or Treat Blog Hop 2016

Jo of Serendipitous Stitching is hosting another Trick or Treat Blog Hop.  I stitched this candy corn ornament last month. I envision a ribbon topper/hanger but my bow making skills are a little under par.  I'm pretty pleased with the finish so far.

Hop on over to The Grey Tail to collect the next letter in the Halloween Phrase.
 Thank     for visiting.

10th Day Online Advent Calendar Bloghop

Jo is hosting the 2015 Online Advent Calendar Blog Hop. If you have missed the previous days hop on over and check them out.

Today I'm sharing an angel ornament. I found this pattern here while looking for a quick-to-stitch ornament for Kaye's Christmas Ornie SAL. My little angel is holding a candle that is made up of a bugle bead and gold seed bead; her halo is stitched with Krenik braid.

One of my fondest memories of Christmas Eve is hearing carolers. Growing up, civic groups, churches and other choirs/singers often could be heard caroling in the neighborhood, To this day when I return home for the holidays I make it a point to attend the Challenge of Carols. After a night of caroling, many choirs converge in the main square for a sunrise Christmas Concert.
At home I usually spend the night watching Christmas movies, It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorites, as is the Charlie Brown Christmas. Vickie has a clip of my fave part of Charlie Brown Christmas in her post.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the rest of the Online Advent Calendar Blog Hop
